Turbo segment
The term "turbo segment" describes a special geometry of the cutting segments used in diamond cutting blades. Turbo segments are distinguished from standard diamond cutting blades by their regularly serrated longitudinal sides. The serration reduces the lateral contact of the segment with the work piece to be cut and, thereby, reduces friction and lowers temperatures. This allows diamond cutting blades with turbo segments to achieve a greater cutting performance and a longer service life than conventional diamond cutting blades.
Examples of diamond cutting blades equipped with turbo segments included in Klingspor's current line-up include the DT 900 U and DT 900 UD models.
